Driver: Jim Walker
Height: 5'8
Weight: 210
Hometown: Holtville, AL
Education: Holtville High School / Wallace Jr. College

Jim walker was born and raised in Alabama and introduced to the love of racing at a very young age. He frequently attended races with his father, mother and older brother at historic Montgomery Speedway during that track's most successful years. His heroes were the Allison Boys and Red Farmer from stories told by his father.

His real interest in being a driver began when he was attending a "Talladega 500" race in the early 90's. He began to have a dream of starting a new "Alabama Gang" in racing. With the help of his brother, Bill, he purchased a car and engine and hit the track in Montgomery and moved quickly up through the various divisions. He has enjoyed being track champion in Birmingham and Montgomery in the Late Model Division.

His first experience running in the ARCA RE/MAX series was to drive 12 hours to South Boston, VA, just to have the race canceled because of a hurricane. His first actual ARCA RE/MAX start was made on July 12, 2003, in Lake Erie, PA where he was extremely proud to be able to make the race on his time qualifying speed, and not have to take a provisional.

With his competitive personality, Jim feels the hardest thing for him to do is to drive conservatively, but knows to survive long races you must be a smart driver, calculating each move. Consistent, solid finishes are his goal for each race.

He feels the personal instruction he received from NASCAR legend Buddy Baker will benefit him many times. He will never forget the words, "Bring it on in, Jim, you've earned your cap and gown!" Baker has also taught some of today's top NASCAR drivers such as Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman. Jim expects to use this training to reach his own goals as well as represent his sponsors in a professional manner.
